Descripción
Keraflex Extra S1 is a flexible cement glue made from a gray or white powder, composed of cement and fine-grained sand. It contains a high amount of synthetic resins and special additives, according to a formula developed in MAPEI's research laboratories.
CHARACTERISTICS
Keraflex Extra S1 mixed with water, forms a mortar with the following characteristics:
- Easy workability
- Highly thixotropic: Keraflex Extra S1 can be applied on a vertical surface without sagging and without the risk of tiles sliding; Therefore, these can be installed from the top down without the need for cross braces.
- Good capacity to absorb differential deformations between the coating and the support
RECOMMENDATIONS
Do not use Keraflex Extra S1 in the following cases:
- On wood and wood conglomerates
- On metal, rubber, PVC and linoleum surfaces
- On natural stones sensitive to humidity
- On concrete subject to strong movements
FIELDS OF APPLICATION
Gluing, both indoors and outdoors, of ceramic tiles of all types and sizes (tiles, terracotta tiles, porcelain stoneware) and natural stone, (as long as they are not sensitive to humidity), on vertical and horizontal surfaces that may suffer deformations, and on rough supports and plasters, without prior leveling, up to a thickness of 15 mm. It is also suitable for spot gluing insulating materials such as expanded polystyrene, fiberglass and rock wool, Eraclit® (wood-cement panels), acoustic insulation panels, etc.
Some application examples
Gluing ceramic tiles (double-fired, single-fired, porcelain, clinker, etc.) and stone (as long as they are not sensitive to humidity) on conventional supports that may suffer deformations, such as:
- Cement screeds, even with underfloor heating installations
- Anhydrite screeds, previously treated with a Primer G or Eco Prim T primer
- Cement plasters, or lime and cement mortar
- Single-layer plaster plasters
- Drywall, as long as it is securely fastened
- Ceramic and stone tiles on existing floors (ceramic, marble, etc.)
- Installation of pavements subjected to intense traffic
